28/5

Thandi had to work today, and she wanted Brittany and I to rest after our flights in, so we woke up late late late and hung around the house all day. Once Bongi and Mbongisile got back from school around 4 we walked to the beach and saw Muizenberg for the first time. It is a quaint beach town at the base of a mountain that is unbelievable to me, but just a backdrop for locals. We passed a pole that has been left up from Apartheid that marked the black and white section of the beach. On the white side are the community center, good surf, and colorful changing rooms that line the shore. We then walked around the shops, through neighborhoods, past their schools, and eventually back home just before dark. Thandi got home a few minutes after us and we all sat down for dinner, soap operas, and bed.
